We have recently updated the plug in and it has broken the link between mailchimp and the form capture on our site. It is coming up with the following error We’ve encountered an error. No list ID was sent. i have tried clearing the mailchimp cache and deactivating the plugin but it has not fixed it. We have tried to reinstate the old plugin, this hasnt worked either.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi @rjnclark,

Hm, that’s unusual. Have you checked that your API key is still valid and connected?

    Let us know.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.

Have you changed your API key recently? Were you on a different API key before you updated? Does the list you’re trying to access still exist on MailChimp.com? Have you cleared your API cache (https://yikesplugins.com/support/knowledge-base/api-cache-settings/)?

Apologies, i thought that i responded. No the API key has not been changed and the list still exists within Mailchimp. I have cleared the API cache and it still cannot get the list. Do you have anyone that can hire to assist with this issue. Im currently in the process of rolling back the site, as we are a lead gen business and cannot afford to have the link down.

    Hi @rjnclark,

I’m not sure what’s going on but I’m sure this could be fixed if you were willing to re-create your current lists. That is, if you delete the plugin completely from your site and then re-install it, everything should be starting from fresh and you shouldn’t have this issue.

Let me know if that’s a solution.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.

    Hi Kevin,

I have tried deleting the plugin and reinstating the plugin from our staging site, i have also created a new api key. Neither of these have resolved the issue.

Any other suggestions? Im not super technical but does anything happen on the php side?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,

Something doesn’t add up. How did you delete the plugin? Are you deleting it via the WordPress admin or just by deleting the files?

If you deleted the files, we won’t be able to clean up after ourselves (i.e. delete plugin-related records in the database).

If you deleted the plugin via the WordPress admin, then let me know…we’ll have to do some more advanced troubleshooting.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.

I also found this snippet of code in the page source and looking at our list id this is different. Could this be the reason???

    <!– Honeypot Trap –>
    <input type=”hidden” name=”yikes-mailchimp-honeypot” id=”yikes-mailchimp-honeypot” value=””>
    <!– List ID –>
    <input type=”hidden” name=”yikes-mailchimp-associated-list-id” id=”yikes-mailchimp-associated-list-id” value=”4a8d1f2775″>

    Hi Kevin,

I deleted it within wordpress using admin login, deactivated it and then reinstalled it. I then cleared the cache. Are you saying i should do this in cpanel?

    Many thanks,
    Ryan

    Hi @rjnclark,

You’ve done everything right. It’s something with the plugin that I don’t understand. I don’t know how our data would stick around after the plugin was deleted.

The mis-matching list IDs are also a sign that something has gone wrong. It seems like old data is somehow sticking.

Would you mind emailing us at plugins [at] yikesinc [dot] com so we can talk through some more advanced troubleshooting steps for this? Please include a reference to this ticket in your email.

Again, I apologize for this error.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.

    HI,

Running into the same problem. Added the plugin and created a sample Opt-in form. When I try to edit the form from within WP I get: “We’ve encountered an error. No list ID was sent.”. Tried everything I can think of, Changed themes, deleted Easy Forms and reinstalled it. Any suggestions going forward would REALY be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Bob

    Hi,
in my case plugin works perfectly until I install add-on GDPR Compliance for MailChimp. After that if I update any of forms, it breaks them by showing:

“We’ve encountered an error. No list ID was sent.”

After that, nothing works. Even if I delete and create a new form, reinstall plugin. But if I disable GDPR Compliance for MailChimp, I am I able to create new forms with no problems. But old forms never work again.

So if you use this add-on, try disabling it.

    Hi @marty333,

Thanks for sharing that. I don’t understand how our GDPR plugin would create this problem but I will investigate that as soon as possible.

@bobwol06 – are you using the GDPR plugin? Can you try disabling that?

    Let me know.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.

I really hope this can be solved as I would really like to have my form GDPR compliant and now I am not able to do that. Or is there any other way for me to create this privacy checkbox in Yikes MailChimp forms without this GDPR plugin?

If you have any idea of what I could try to fix this, please inform me.

    Thank you,
    Marty

I am currently working on all of our Mailchimp plugins and I see no way the GDPR plugin could create this error. Can you please confirm that turning the GDPR plugin on/off is having an effect on the list ID error?
