    Hello,

So I’m not sure if this is a bug or not, but I couldn’t find anything else in the forums. New contact 7 user, and thus far, looks pretty good. I’ve found that in my Mail Tab -> Message Body section, the following is configured to show the users name and email address.

    From: [ContactName] <[EmailAddress]>

I however have noticed that when I receive the email, the <[EmailAddress]> portion is missing. If I remove the outer < > symbols leaving just the field tag, then the email address shows in my received email address.

    Thoughts?

    See Setting Up Mail

If you select “Use HTML content type” checkbox, try unselecting it.

    Hi Takayuki,

Yea, I did that and everything works as expected. The issue is when enclosing the tag defined for the email with angle brackets (ie, <>). The form gets emailed fine, it just doesn’t show up in the received email if the angle brackets are in place. If they are removed, the field shows up in the email received. That tells me that having the angle brackets around the email tag is causing the system to not recognize it as the field I wish to show.

Ok, so after further tests, if the ‘Use HTML content type’ button is checked, it does not show the email field. With it unchecked, the email comes through fine. I did not see anything in the docs indicating that you are unable to surround tags with specific characters if html encoding is on.

It’s just that in HTML content a word with surrounding < > can be recognized as an HTML tag.

Correct. So I am to presume there isn’t a workaround for this situation when it surrounds a field tag, correct? Just want to understand if this is the expected action.

    Thank you…

The easiest workaround is avoiding uses of < > in HTML message body.
