  • Hello,

No download URL can be 100% hidden. A smart user can also check the HTTP connections and find the actual file URL. However, if the files are uploaded using our plugin then even if the user gets the URL, they cannot directly access the file. They will have to use the dynamic URL’s generated by our plugin such as “yourwebsite.com/download/123”.

I hope that answers your query. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Having a similar issue. You say that “However, if the files are uploaded using our plugin then even if the user gets the URL, they cannot directly access the file” however if a user sees the URL e.g. https://www.mysite/com/download/123 what’s stopping them from sharing that link for others to download?

    And what are “dynamic” URLs?

    Hey @haroldd09,

I would request you to create a new post in future so the original post creator does not get any notifications and we could answer you much faster.

Regarding your question, the URL you shared is a dynamic URL created by our plugin. Yes, users can share that and they would be able to download the file. However, that’s what our plugin offers “Monitoring Downloads”.

If you want to lock a download and ask the user for an email then we have plugins for that too.
