[Feature Request] Separate Artwork for Episodes

    Publishing a podcast with WordPress works so awesomely perfect with the SSP plugin, but there’s one thing that annoys me every week when I upload a new episode: Podcast players only accept artwork that is square.

    But most WordPress themes have a different aspect ratio for featured images, carousels etc.

    Now, I had an idea that would end this struggle: SSP should offer to upload an optional square image that can be used for the itunes:image tags in the podcast feed for an episode. As fallback (and for backward compatibility), SSP would use the featured image that is set for the post.

    No more square images in themes with panoramic teaser images. ??

    Hi Dave, great suggestion and this is something we’ve had on our radar for a while now. This as well as customizable <description> or <itunes:summary> tags that you could edit for each post that is independent of the post contents. This will definitely be coming down the line…have a few other fun things in store for you first, but likely somewhere around the end of the year on this one.
