Problems and bugs
-
I have conflicting views on this theme. While it offers some nice functionality, and while the support has been fairly good about responding, there are some weird things with the Pro version. Anomaly 1 – if you enter two blogs in one day, the home page will display the month of the article on the first article posted on that day, but not for the other article, so you get a blank month for the 2nd article and just the day. That doesn’t make sense. The owl carousel for the blog posts do not have a fixed height on the featured image, so one must use the same dimensions on every featured post (1800×800 — huge image files). (I find that clients entering their own blog posts don’t pay attention to rules like requirement heights on featured images).
Initially, on the posts page with right sidebar, the comment section wasn’t functioning properly — with the navigation for next/previous blog posts being right smack dab in the middle of the comment form and the comment submit button extending into the footer. I suspect it was an unmatched <div> tag or some such. They did fix that. I literally have been corresponding with them for at least 3 weeks almost every single day and I’m just tired of it. I will either have to find and fix the comment numbering problem myself or just live with it. Neither is desirable. If the opportunity presents itself in the future to effectively switch to a different theme, I will be highly tempted to do so.
I wonder just how much testing was done on this theme and if anyone has ever pushed it to its full capability as I have been doing?
Had the theme worked out of the box as it was intended, I probably would have given this theme a higher rating. I will give them credit for providing one functionality that was not standard — the limiting of the testimonial text to a fixed amount so that the owl carousel for the testimonials didn’t keep changing the overall height of the home page. I appreciate them fixing the code to include this feature.
