    Hi!
I’ve got a tree-lingual website and I’ve installed its own WordPress on every of them. When inserting a photo, I load it only on one WordPress and insert the same link on two others. But it isn’t possible to do the same with the photo-galleries (I use the internal WP galleries), the others WP don’t understand the WP codes from one another ([gallery columns="5" link="file" ids="1365,1560,1561,1563,1562"]). I have to use a great many of the photos and I cant’s afford to add the same photo 3 times, for every language. It’s too few articles yet, but it’s near 500 Mb already! It’s terrible!
    (For example, it’s a page with photo-galleries: https://journey-ua.pp.ua/en/peculiar-arch-od2.html)
Tell me please, is there any solution? How can I create the photo-galleries inserting the photos on one WP only (one language) and insert the links (not the photos) on the others? Can I use any plugin? Perhaps for create tables? Perhaps it’s planned to change this option in WP in the near feature allowing to use the same galleries on others WP versions (other languages)?
    Thanks a lot!!!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Allaneta, try to follow this article it may help you:
    https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-custom-links-to-gallery-images-in-wordpress/

But if you want a Multilingual WordPress Installation with the same content and the same image, maybe having three WordPress Installations, one for each language is not the best solution.

I will choose to have a plugin that can turn your main WordPress Installation into a Multilingual site that can handle the three language on the same site.

Try to choose a free Multilingual plugin like Polylang, Bogo or Sublanguage, qTranslate-X, WPGlobus…

You can learn more for Multilingual on this article:

    Hi husseincak
Thank you a lot, but this plugin don’t help me. I’ve to select the image for see the additional fields of this plugin, so I need to load this image into WP. It’s the same, I’ve to load it tree times, on every version.

I tried a table plugin too, but it don’t adapt the image size to the screen, so isn’t convenient too.

The Multilingual WP plugins translated text by themselves, and I don’t want use an automatic translation. This is isn’t convenient for me:
” Automatic translation is not good enough and pages on the site might be badly translated.
There’s a strong coupling between content and translation, and changes in the original content might break the translation.”

Perhaps my English isn’t perfect, but I try to improve it, and an automatic translation is really terrible. I saw such sites in my native language, I understood all the words, all the sentences were grammatically correct, but I didn’t understand anything! It was a delirium!

Thank you of try to help, but I have to search other decisions.

Hi @allaneta, its a pitty that the gallery plugin doesn’t work for you.

Regarding the multilingual plugins I mentioned, any of them have automatic translation, you have to provide them the translation by yourself. (like Polylang, Bogo or Sublanguage, qTranslate-X, WPGlobus…)

They just make easy to manage the three language on the same WordPress installation, even on the same page and using the same images. See the images on this link: https://imgur.com/a/Gv2wGvj

husseincak, thank you a lot for trying to help me!
I’ve created a simple site on sub-domain (a page for example: https://ml.journey-ua.pp.ua/en/arq1.html; I’ll remove this site later) and tested various plugins, and I liked much a WPGlobus, it’s the best of all, it works with menus, “All in one seo pack” and some others plugins. But not with all the plugins, I use “mistape” and it’s not able to translation, I placed copyright information in the footer and personified date and can’t translate them either. My website isn’t a typical blog, I use WordPress because it’s very simple, but sometimes I need some other plugins and manual changes to adapt it to my needs, and now I can’t say for sue what I’ll need in the future, and maybe I’ll need to translate it and can’t to do it. So I continue searching a decision for a photo galleries.

Wow!!! It’s incredibly, I can’t believe it, but I’ve found the plugin I need!!! It’s External Media without Import, it allow to copy the links from external website and see those images in the media library. The link in the media library is to the external website, so it doesn’t create a copy, it’s visualizing only.
