API v1 Confirmation Not working

We have our plugin called Convert Pro. We have provided an integration with the MailPoet using your v1 api but the API seems to be not working properly. It looks like the Double Optin option in settings of MailPoet plugin is controlling the Double Optin. When I turn it on and submit our forms using simple subscription ( without double optin i.e send_confirmation_email parameter set to false ) API, the submitted email goes to ‘unconfirmed’ status. It should go to ‘subscribed’ status regardless of what I select in the MailPoet settings for double optin.

Similarly, when I turn off the setting for double optin in MailPoet and submit our form using doublt optin ( with double optin i.e send_confirmation_email parameter set to true ) API, the submitted email goes to ‘subscribed’ status. It should go to ‘unconfirmed’ status regardless of what I select in the MailPoet settings for double optin.

Another issue, I have setup mailing on localhost using WP Email SMTP. I tested it using the test option and it is sending email. Also, tested it using Convert Pro email notification and it is still sending emails. But, When I submitted the form of MailPoet it did not send any email for confirmation. May be something wrong with my setup in MailPoet setting? Or you guys should re-check its working with the WP Email SMTP plugin.

I have used the same Email for Default sender email setting which I have used for WP Email SMTP.
