    Hi,

In the plugin settings, we evidently created a situation in which welcome emails are arriving in an interrupted stream (to the participant), in batches of about 20 welcome emails arriving at 5-minute intervals.

Perhaps the problem arose because I added a signup shortcode to the Thank you message, which appeared on the signup page, perhaps creating a recursive signup process. I’m not sure.

At any rate, the emails are streaming into my inbox. I have deleted the plugin with no effect. I also posted a question about how to reset the database.

Any thoughts? Our hosting provider is stumped.

    Thanks!

If you deleted the plugin and the emails are still coming, then it’s likely the issue is with the server itself. Even when it’s running, the plugin won’t do this, the code that sends the email can only be triggered once.

5-minute intervals suggests there is a cron job that is resending the email, so I’d check on any other plugin you are using that set up cron jobs, although I don’t know exactly what you’d look for.

Thanks, yes it turns out that the emails were queued on the server.

I assume that I created a recursive loop by adding the Signup Form shortcode in the Signup Thanks Message field, and had the Thanks Message appear on the Signup for mpage. Bad idea on my part!

    Thanks for the help.
