• Hey group!

if i have a web page site with multiple pages but add a blog page as well i could use the blog page for case studies and detailed project information but I am wondering if adding blog pages is better than adding web pages or vice versa?
i.e How do blog pages show up in the search engines over time…

blog pages seem like a good way for SEO to have a good effect and for certain key phrases, i can see a blog lists in the search engine with the date and time stamp of the blog, but as this date gets older will it fall down the index?
or will it stay up there until other sites out perform it??

is it better to add blog pages or to add fixed web pages for SEO and being seen over time on the search engines??

any help / advise on this?

    regards Glooper

You need to ask this in Google forums https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters

glooper, I’ve re-opened this topic as I was the one that closed it. I’ve also archived your new duplicate topic.

The reason I closed it was that you’re not asking a WordPress question, you’re asking a search engine question and that’s not really for these forums.

If you use an SEO plugin then you should consider asking in that plugin’s support sub-forum instead. It’s still not a WordPress topic but if it has to do with a plugin then at least you’d be asking in the right place.

    Hi Jan

thank you, I am fairly new to word press and i use it for websites but i feel that using a blog on the website can potentially make a site look more streamlined and possibly less cluttered with new updated data, case studies info etc..
however until i blog a few time i will not know how it works / is seen in the search engines.

I was hoping for some input from word press users that work in this way to see if they can offer any advice.

i didn’t want to go down the blog route only to find in the long term it is not good for SEO.

hopefully someone can advise on the use of blogs in websites?

WordPress is natively SEO friendly. Plugins can make it more so.

It doesn’t matter if you use it for a blog or a news site or a database/wiki site.

We don’t offer general web advice here because it’s a bit out of scope. Can’t do everything ??
