    Greetings,

We added a simple “how did you hear about us” field to our registration form, but I’m not sure how I can find this information after a user registers. If I open the user properties at wp-admin/user-edit.php, the custom form isn’t displayed there. If I try to view their public profile by clicking the “View” link in the user admin page (which goes to /author/[username]), I just get an error that says “Nothing Found”.

    Plugin version is: 1.4.7

    Thanks for any assistance!

  • Hello @tpg1994,

User custom field will appear in users profile page under ‘User Extra Information’ Section. For more details follow our docs: https://docs.wpeverest.com/docs/user-registration/how-to/how-to-view-all-user-registered-profile-for-admins/

Also, user can see their custom field details in profile details tab in my account section. For more details follow our docs: https://docs.wpeverest.com/docs/user-registration/registration-form-and-login-form/how-to-show-account-profile/

Let us know if you have any further confusion.

    Hi sanzeeb,

Those were the same steps I was following. If I look at a user’s profile information from the admin section, the custom fields do not show up (just WooCommerce’s). Also, if I click on the View link for a user, it takes me to a /author/[username] URL resulting in a “Not Found” error.

In addition, if I try to view the My Account page while logged in (which has the shortcode pasted in to it), all I see if a brief dashboard with no information on it besides a greeting with my first name.

Thank you for posting the documentation links, hopefully this is just a simple problem that can be fixed.

    Hello again,

The issue is not reproduced. I have successfully registered to your website and got the additional information on profile details tab in my account section. You (Admin) can also view my additional information from dashboard->Users-> ‘User Extra Information’. The view link on user will display any posts authored by the user and it will not view the details of the user.

If you are not being able to view user details from Users tab, please contact us from here [email protected], we may need additional information to look into the issue.

Are you viewing your profile page in my account as admin? If yes, then please follow this docs https://docs.wpeverest.com/docs/user-registration/troubleshooting/why-is-my-profile-details-page-empty/

    sanzeeb,

Thank you for registering and testing it out. From your and wpeverest’s posts, I now understand why some profiles don’t work – because they were created before the custom profile fields were added. That makes sense to me. However, if I try to view your profile directly instead of in the admin area (by opening the link /author/vyjygujas), I still get a “Nothing found” error. Should I go through with contacting the support email?

    Hello again,

If you are referring to view link under username in users tab from admin dashboard it will redirect to link such as https://themegrill.io/blog/author/sanzeeb/ .And, As already said, the link will provide the posts and/or other activities authored by that user. You can try with clicking view under admin user. And, for all other users not creating any posts, you will get nothing found.

Sorry, I wasn’t aware that my question about the View link being broken was already answered. So is there no way to view a user’s profile outside of the admin page then?

    Hi there,

Sorry for the delayed response. Currently, viewing profile outside of admin page is not possible. Only admin and the user who registered can view their profile, other users can’t view each other’s profile. However, we will consider about this feature

    Hi wpeverest,

Thank you for the solutions you and sanzeeb have posted. I think I was just confused by a few things, but all is clear now.
