cforms II – upgrades

  • Hello forum,

    does anyone know if cforms can update again automatically one day? It is very annoying to upload files by FTP for 10 blog installations every three weeks. Or is there an interesting alternative to cforms?

    Guess the automatic upgrade thing will only happen when the plugin author satisfies whatever complaints the plugin-site-maintainers has with the plugin.

    Until then it’s a manual thing. I believe there was some activity in Trac to automatically upgrade plugin, even when not hosted at Extend/plugins, but not sure what has happened with that.

    I had asked the same question in the cforms forum and the response was along the lines of “no one is *forced* to upgrade” and that there is little chance the plugin is going to make it back on wp.org ever.

    While I’d rather have it auto update-able of course, he has a point. Anyway, many of my installs (customer & personal sites) I don’t update, or at least not every time a new version or patch is available. Some other customer sites I do update, but I also get paid for it – so I don’t complain about that either.

    …alternative to cforms? I haven’t found one, trust me I’ve looked at all the other plugins and not even one comes remotely close…
