When I run the plugin, featured images work perfectly on pages but non-featured images are not working properly in the blog section posts. When I add non-featured images to the body of the post, one of them appears in the blogroll above the “More” tag, even though the images are below “More” in the post and no featured image is set. Also, if I delete the image from the post, it still appears above “More” on the blogroll.

Hi Marvin! I’m sorry you’re having trouble with the plugin. I visited the URL you provided and I’m not sure what’s happening that you’re not wanting, as the plugin isn’t actually doing any work on the blog page or the individual post, as far as I can tell.

If the issue is with the image that’s being used as the post thumbnail on the archive (blog) page–the image that’s displaying before the content–I believe that’s coming from a default Genesis Framework behavior–if no featured image is set, then the first image uploaded to the post will be used as the archive thumbnail. If you can deactivate the plugin temporarily and reload the archive page, the fallback image should still be there.

If you do not want the framework to not show a fallback image in the archives if no featured image is set, there is a filter you can use to change that behavior. I’ve used it before–although I don’t have it handy right now, I could look and see if I can dig it out.

If I’m misunderstanding your issue, I apologize. Can you clarify your concern, please? Thank you for your patience.

AH, thanks so much Robin! Your reply set me on the right path. I went into Genesis Theme Settings, and deselected “Featured Image: [] Include the Featured Image?” and voila, it works perfectly. Weird thing is, I didn’t have an issue with the images appearing until after installing your plugin. And it went away after deactivating your plugin. Might want to make a note for your users. Thanks again!

    Marvin
