  • Hi @whateverbatch,

Can you provide the URL of an event, and specifically what you have attempted to change and save, so I can take a look?

Be sure to clear any caching in your WP admin dashboard, and also your browser cache.

    Hi Sunny,

I have cleared both WP Admin Cache and browser cache, re-entered the details, dates, time, address, contacts, tickets, and saved, 5+ times and it keeps coming back blank.

    The event is at https://goo.gl/i5UgEX

    Thanks

    Hi Sunny,

I have deleted the 2 events, and recreated them, with the same result?

    Hi @whateverbatch,

    The page you linked to,
    https://cecilshub.com/event/community-forum-the-art-of-relating/

is coming up blank. Are you able to create a regular WordPress page?

If so, this error is likely a result of a plugin or theme conflict (usually caused by a caching or security plugin).. To test this, please try a different theme temporarily such as Twenty Seventeen (be sure to save any theme specific settings), or, disable all plugins and then check if the problem recurrs — then re-enable each one until you find which one caused the problem.

    Let me know the results.

Thanks for the reply, when I create another event, it works fine. I have created 100+ events using the exact same setup and theme.

This one seems to be blank?

I have changed my theme to Twenty Fifteen, the date defaults to today at 05:14 am, with no other event details apart from the body text?

    Doesn’t display this though?

I have just created a new event, it all worked fine, dates, times, images etc. The timezone is Melbourne when it’s clearly ‘Sydney’ in the event section?

    Hi @whateverbatch,

If only one event appeared blank, it may have been caused by a memory or connection glitch, where some event data didn’t get saved to the database. Re-creating it is the ideal solution, as you have done.

Sydney and Melbourne timezones are the same, but just labelled differently.

It may be a glitch, but when I try to recreate the same event with the same details, as I have done 4-5 times it always comes back blank, the text is still there, just the details of the event are defaulted to blank or the system time?

    It doesn’t make sense?

    Hi @whateverbatch,

Are you manually entering all the data with your keyboard, or are you copying and pasting data into the Description field?

It’s possible you are copying data, and picking up abnormal characters (not visible) which could potentially break script operation, causing the glitch.

Try recreating the event without copying and pasting anything.

Apologies for the delay in replying, been away for 4 days.

The details in the event and not copy/ paste, but as they are events with recurring data, I use the arrow keys to select the data in the form fields.

The other events that I create also have recurring data, but these events do not lose their data?

    thanks

    Hi @whateverbatch,

It sounds to me like the data you are selecting with the arrow keys are not being submitted with the form. Can you give me a link to the event with missing data after you recreate this issue, so I can have a look?

Thanks, just recreated it with the form data, the same results?

    Hi @whateverbatch,

Ok, so the whole page is blank. The source code is also blank.

Are the results different if you use a mouse instead of keyboard to enter the data?

If you’ve eliminated a conflict, then I suggest a manual reinstall. These instructions will preserve your current events:

    – Perform a complete back up of your database before proceeding further
    – Delete the file uninstall.php from the plugin directory that is currently on the server (found under /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar). Deleting this file ensures that when you uninstall the current version of the plugin, your event data and calendar settings will be preserved when you delete the plugin (don’t skip this step – it’s important!)
    – Deactivate the All-in-One Event Calendar using your WordPress Dashboard.
    – Delete the All-in-One Event Calendar using your WordPress Dashboard.
    – Database -> wp_options, click option_name to sort and delete everything with ai1ec_, this will delete plugin settings but events will remain in the database.
    – Now install the latest version.

Thanks, I will do this when I have more time.

When I create a new event from scratch, it works fine, it’s just this event?

    Confused?

    Hi @whateverbatch,

There must be some piece of data that causes it. I suggest running the repair command on your WordPress database in case of data corruption.
