xml feed to wordpress

  • This looks like a great plugin to download the xml file . Can you explain a few things.

    Is the xml file parsed into the wordpress database? If not where is it held?
    I know how to use xpath i just want to get a feel of which parts i have to do…

    I want to use a theme that has property templates ( propertyhive) already set up. Can i link the 2 plugins up?

    Side Note:
    If i just used xml feed and wrote my own php functions to extract the data with a search form for users.. would this be normal to do with wordpress?
    Do devs actually sit dowm, write all that code and then bolt it onto a wordpress theme?
