Easy T and P U reported as abandoned by WordFence

    Just a heads up to the developers, WordFence plugin is sending abandoned plugin alert emails about Easy Theme and Plugin Updates plugin.
    This is due to the long duration since the last update of Easy Theme and Plugin Updates plugin (2 years)

    I understand that Easy Theme and Plugin Updates plugin is still supported and is well coded and fully functional, but many users will not be aware of this.

    I would expect a large proportion of Easy Theme and Plugin Updates plugin users to also be using WordFence, so anywhere up to 50 000 sites may be sending these emails to their admin user.

    Perhaps a tested upto type of update is in order.

    Sorry for not responding earlier. While in principle I don’t like modifying software just to get rid of a nag, when other software starts throwing up red flags because of it, principles go down in priority.

    Sorry, am confused by your reply, @chrisjean Does this mean you are planning to address this issue?

    I updated the plugin yesterday to a new version. No code changed, but the update cleared the “this plugin has not been updated in…” message that wp.org was showing.

    I assume that this update will also be seen by WordFence so that it will no longer send abandoned plugin emails about this plugin. I can’t do anything to prevent the emails being sent in the past, but I can bump this plugin periodically to prevent it in the future.
