loads nothing on index page

    Somewhat bewildered: my new WordPress site was up and running, I was adding posts and media. Everything seems to be ok when I log-in to admin. The dashboard and everthing seem to be working fine, but when I try to visit and view the actaual site I only get a blank page. Nothing.

    I can’t see that I really did anything to cause this, but I’m fairly new to WordPress. I have no plug-ins other than the deafault installation.

    Can anyone suggest an explanation? Should I just start over and upload my material over again, or can I work around this?

  • If you are not using the default theme, then try switching to it and see if that helps. If you copied and pasted something into a post just before this happened, then delete that post and see if that helps.

    Ah, thanks! I’ll hopfully get back on track now.
    Switching to the default theme worked ok. Something has obviously gone wrong without me knowing in the theme I had developed. It was working fine for a while, but I shouldn’t be surprised as I’m not really on top of the code. Still don’t now what has actually happened though. WordPress won’t allow me to switch back to my theme, and my back-up files aren’t accepted either.
    I’ll try to work around this, or start up a theme from scratch and learn from the experience…

    I’m running two WordPress installs on my site, one in the root folder and a blog in a separate folder. They used the same theme, but I had deleted some parts of the WordPress Loop in the index file in one of them without editing the title of that theme. It worked for a while, but possibly there is a conflict there?

    I fixed it some time ago. My WordPress theme is runnig nicely.

    It seems the problem was my host server. It was running on WIndows, and after clearing the MySql-database and reinstalling the entire site on a Linux managed server I’ve had no difficulties.
