Top Bar Menu Moves To Mobile Menu

  • I will start another thread on this because the last one went nowhere, so please, can I ask either the theme developer or someone that actually has a solution to help out with this. Thanks…

    When viewing the website on a mobile device, the top bar menu will move to the mobile menu. How can I change that? I would like the top bar menu, to you know, stay in the top bar where I put it.

    Currently, there’s no option to change that in the theme. You will need to customize the theme for this. You can also consult with a developer.

    Solution –

    Create a custom menu template in Theme Panel > my library > add new (using the page builder).

    Now go to Customize > Top bar > content > select templete > choose your custom menu template.

    Hope, it should work as per your need.

    Thanks Amit.

    For me to create a custom template just for this simple issue, seems a very complex solution, making the template and adding custom CSS to get it right.

    Whereas, I’m hoping for an update from the developer to add a common sense setting so we can choose to have the menu stay in the top bar area, or behave as it is now, like a crazy child on a sugar high, jumping about into another menu area. Just give us the choice please!

    Even a suggestion of a little code to put in my functions.php to get it to behave correctly, I’d be grateful for that. Just hoping for an easier solution.

    Just curious why you don’t want a Mobile menu on that tiny little screen?

    Your asking for a feature that is outdated and probably won’t be used by many people.
    Most menus are really to large to show on a mobile without wrapping around 2 or 3 times.

    I’m not saying you are wrong, just asking whats wrong with the mobile approach ?

    Hi @lestexas60,

    These are two separate menus, the main menu and the top bar menu.

    For the main menu, yes, I want it to be a mobile menu for mobile device viewing. For the top bar menu, I only have a few links that I’d like to always show in the top bar.

    This is actually the first theme I’ve come across that either behaves like this by default, or doesn’t give you the option to not merge the top bar menu into the main menu. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, I really love OceanWP theme, I just wish I was smart enough to work out how to fix this myself.

    Is the top bar men a custom menu? Couldn’t you create a custom top bar and just add links as opposed to a menu? Functionally the same.

    If you could show the URL might make it easier to understand.
