Hi – have loved using your plugin – but due to all the fb changes, we’ve seen our feed hasn’t been updated in 3 months-

Today I updated your plugin, was able to get the “Success! We have got tokens for your Facebook pages.” and I (with great hope) went to the web site, but still see that the feed hasn’t updated in 3 months ??

Would love to be able to verify tokens/app ID, etc – but don’t see how to do that with the upgraded plugin. At my wits end and hope you can help ??

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Added note:
Under feeds>main under FB Pages it was blank, so I selected my site from the dropdown, the logo appeared, which I took to be a good sign. However when I hit “apply”, I got an error message – “error : Something went wrong (trying edit feed).”
    Hope this helps a bit!

    Hi,

Due to the current strict limitations in Facebook API, there are a few configuration rules you need to follow to overcome the errors in your Facebook feed.

Note: Before proceeding to the steps below, make sure to update Facebook Feed WD to its latest version.

    1. The feed will not work even if you are an admin/manager/editor of the page, but it has not been created with your Facebook developer account. So the Facebook page must be created by you only.

    2. Make sure to follow the steps in this tutorial, create a Facebook app, copy the App ID and App Secret, then paste them in Facebook Feed WD > Options section. After this, you can get the Page Access Token. Please check this video.

    Thanks! Have a great day!

Thanks for the quick response – just wanted to clarify a couple of things as I’m not sure my post was read beyond the topic/title

    1) Been using the plugin just fine for a while – don’t need to create a new Facebook app from scratch – or do i?

    2) With the new version of the plugin – there is no place to get the App ID and App Secret anymore, nor the Page Access Token – this is all handled on the back end somewhere and aren’t even visible

    3) When I click on “re authenticate” on the “options” page, I get the “Success! We have got tokens for your Facebook pages.” So this seems to have worked –

    4) The documentation and video no longer apply due to the updating of the plugin – not useful for troubleshooting anymore

    Hi,

In the case there is no issues with the feed then you do not have to create new Facebook app.

Please note that with the new update of the plugin you can follow this guide:

Navigate to “Facebook Feed WD > Feeds” page and hit “Log in and get my Access Token” button. Afterwards, press “Continue.”

Note: This does not give us permission to manage your Facebook pages, it simply allows the plugin to see the list of the pages you manage and retrieve an “Access Token.”

You will be redirected to Facebook and it will ask you to confirm the login to your account. As soon as this process is finished, Facebook Feed WD plugin will be authenticated and you will be able to start working on your feeds.

Having the same problem, started around 3 months ago. Updated the plugin and did the “log in and get my access token” to retrieve a list of pages. Selected the page in question and hit “apply” or “save” and I get the same “something went wrong (trying edit feed)” error as before.

    Hi @markarenz,

Could you please try the above suggested solution?

Please let us know whether it help or you still have the issue.

    Thanks.

Yes. We went to our feed in “Facebook WD > Feeds and clicked on log in & get access token. This sent us to FB where we did the permissions bit and clicked continue.

We then selected our page from the dropdown.

When we clicked Save or Apply, we got the “something went wrong error”

We tried starting a new feed with the same steps but we got a “problem with save fb feed” error.

    Hi,

Could you please try to uninstall/install the plugin (the feed will be deleted) and try to create the feed following this steps:
Navigate to “Facebook Feed WD > Feeds” page and hit “Log in and get my Access Token” button. Afterwards, press *”Continue.”

    https://docsimages.10web.io/wd-facebook-feed/facebook-25.png

You will be redirected to Facebook and it will ask you to confirm the login to your account. As soon as this process is finished, Facebook Feed WD plugin will be authenticated and you will be able to start working on your feeds.

Sorry – after deleting and reinstalling, there is no option to “login and get my access token” button
    – the feed was still there after removing and reinstalling the plugin

We will do our best to solve the issue asap.

    Thanks.

    @rocky
Have you uninstalled under the Plugins?

You can go to Facebook Feed WD – Options. There is an Uninstall, too. This deletes the Databases. Then uninstall the Plugin and reinstall it, so the databases were built up new.

    Yes
“Sorry – after deleting and reinstalling, there is no option to “login and get my access token” button
    – the feed was still there after removing and reinstalling the plugin”

Support has offered a TeamViewer session to try and diagnose which I will take them up on next week – have followed all the steps, but just as @markarenz in this thread, the behavior we see doesn’t match up with what we’re told should be happening

    Hello,

Any solutions to this issue? I have the same problem.

    Thanks!
