    The New Order notification email doesn’t send when an order is placed.

    It DOES, however, properly send an email when a Order Actions-> Resend new order notification is done in the admin section.

    It also properly sends an email notification when I chance an order’s status to Complete.

    I have switched different SMTP plugins, deactivated all plugins to find any possible conflict, talk with my server support but we cannot find nothing about this weird problem!

    I have installed an email log plugin and there is NO trigger when a new order is placed. Like this email has never been sent!

    The weird is that some people get it but others dont. It looks like people that dont get it have gmail accounts. We also created a SPF record to Google.

    What is going on? This is really weird! I have Woo 3.0.7

  • Try using a WP Mail Logging plugin and even better MailGun so you can see where the disconnect is.

    As I already told I have used a log plugin but no email seems to go through when I crate a new order!

    Right. My bad. I’m old. Install MailGun and create an account with them. It’s all free and see if that helps.

    I changed to another theme and i received successfully the email. So something from the theme is breaking the process. How can i debug and find exactly what causes the problem?

    You might have to put that theme into debug mode and see what errors you get. Search for any custom scripting that may attach itself to WC.

    How can i enable the theme debug mode? You mean the generic WP_DEBUG in wp-config file or something else?

    Exactly. Put that on. See if your theme throws any errors.

    You’ll also want to take a closer look at the system status report found under WooCommerce > System Status –> Paying specific attention to template overrides for the cart, checkout, thank you and email templates.

    If there are any overrides in place, you’ll want to reach out to the developers of your theme for closer scrutiny…
