the Good: I like the Yoast SEO tool because it does great work adding the necessary info for page level SEO and provides strong hints about how to write better SEO compatible content for webpages and strong meta data content. Getting the meta data on each page for search engines visibility is important and Yoast does a good job with this.
The less good: I had to search far to find good instructions for connecting my wordpress site and Yoast plugin, to google search console, and invoking the built in Sitemap function in wordpress and get instructions into the robot.txt file. Most of the necessary instructions are not hard, but if you do not deal this kind of setup daily it is kind of difficult because of the details needing to be correct and doing all the detailed steps all the way. Once it is done, correctly, wordpress will update your sitemap data automatically. I kind of wish Yoast had a work sheet, pdf, for doing this basic setting up. It is kind of the point of doing SEO, linking your site so it gets crawled and indexed correctly by the search engines. And because it only needs to be done once for a website, the Yoast instructions are kind of light on details for this part of setting up SEO on your wordpress website for a hobbyist.
