There are filter hooks on all the public side text output, so you can create a little code snippet to modify any of the text fairly easily. Or, you can make a custom translation file with your own custom text.

Or, to make it really easy, you can use the Customizer plugin, which allows you to change or hide almost all of the text that appears on the public side:
