Gutenberg is still under active development and there is currently no public roadmap to inform us when it will be merged in WordPress and when WordPress 5.0 will be released.

Due to several breaking changes introduced by Gutenberg, in the current state, we consider that Polylang is not compatible with Gutenberg.

Just as the current development of Gutenberg is made ouside WordPress, the current development of the compatibility of Polylang with Gutenberg is done ouside Polylang. If you are interested in following or contributing to the development, see https://github.com/polylang/polylang-gutenberg but don’t use our compatibility plugin on a production site. It’s not ready yet.

If you believe that you found a bug, you are welcome to file a new issue on GitHub, but please make sure that the issue has not been opened yet.

Nice to read a post about Gutenberg’s compatibility with your plugin. In 19th of this month the new version 5.0 will be released. So, will be ready your plugin?

Hi,

The release is now planned for the 27th. I have still no idea about what will be possible to do. For sure if the release is maintained a this date, the compatibility could be at best only partial.

Today, we are still waiting for WordPress/Gutenberg developers to unlock two blocking points. See https://github.com/polylang/polylang-gutenberg/issues/15 for the current status.

There is an hypothesis that Polylang won’t be compatible with WP 5.0 the day of the release.

Hi,
I am currently building a website using Gutenberg and Polylang. With the pages and post I have no problem, but after the last update of Polylang (V. 2.4) I have a problem with my Footer Widget (written in HTML).

Btw, there is no version 4.3.0 of Polylang.
