Not working with VPNs

  • Hi loved the idea of your plugin I applied and got the API key for PROXYCHECK.IO .
    I set it up to block checkout, register,home, products (Using Easy Digital Downloads), You account. I’m using Private Internet Access (PIA) and tried a few New York IPs.
    I have block VPNs on. I use W3 Total Cache

    Hi Mitch,

    It looks like you have the pages you wanted to block listed within the “Custom Blocked Page” field and not the “Restrict on specific pages” field. The “Custom Blocked Page” field is for you to select a specific page to use as the page shown to people using a Proxy or VPN (or from a restricted country).

    There is also a chance that it may not work with W3 Total Cache for this particular use. Unfortunately caching plugins run above wordpress and it’s not possible for me to run certain checks if the visitor is being served a cached page from the caching plugin. There is a workaround that may work in W3 Total Cache and this is called Late initialization. I think this is under Page Cache > Advanced > Late initialization.
