    Hey SearchIQ,

I have SearchIQ installed on two different websites.

They both have Cornerstone installed and they both have Posts & Pages with Cornerstone content and pages that don’t have Cornerstone content.

One website has all of the descriptions showing and the other one ( example url: [ redundant link removed ] ) is not showing descriptions for the Cornerstone pages.

From what I see, all of the settings are the same between the two website.

    Help.

    Thanks,
    Rob

    Hey SearchIQ

Ok, here is a demo search on the website that is working for displaying descriptions for Cornerstone content.

    Example search for “answers”:
    https://drivingdesigns.com/search/?q=answers

All three (3) of the search results are pages with Cornerstone content:
    https://drivingdesigns.com/answers/
    https://drivingdesigns.com/awp320/
    https://drivingdesigns.com/get-started/

    Thanks

    Hi Rob,

We require admin and FTP access to the SearchIQ plugin on both the sites to analyse the difference.

Really? How so @searchiq is that required?

It’s a very serious question and please answer it here.

Also in case it’s not clear, Rob do not provide the author any access to your site.

I’m sure this is just a misunderstanding on my side but you know, just in case.

    Hi Jan,

Sorry for the confusion, and I have talked to my team about it. As the user has the same SearchIQ settings so the team wanted to investigate how is the other site different from the one that is working.

I read your email regarding the best practice to ask for details from the User. We will work on that and will follow that approach.

Just to add, SearchIQ is a reputed plugin we do not have any wrong intentions. You can see the reviews we have got so far.

I have communicated to the team and we will follow the best practice to get details from the user.

Jan, let me know if you need more info. Here is my direct contact [email protected]

    Jan and SearchIQ,

I had a different issue two weeks ago, gave SearchIQ my login credentials and they researched the issue & corrected it with no problems or issues. (That was my experience.)

Jan – I definitely hear your concern and I do have history working with SearchIQ.

Saurabh – would emailing Rahul be appropriate? I’m thinking a staging copy of the 2nd site would be appropriate in this case / situation – from there SearchIQ can check settings, etc. SearchIQ already has access to the functional website.

    Thank you.

    Hi Robert,

    Thank you for mentioning that.
Yes, Rahul is the right person to reach out. Sure, I think the staging site would be a good idea, as we would like to avoid access to the main site.

    Saurabh,

Great, thank you! I’ll reach out to Rahul.

I’ll also set the intention to post the solution here once we find it.

    Thanks,

    Hi Rob,

We have checked both the sites you have shared and observe the difference in how Cornerstone is saving the data on both the sites. It seems this is because of different versions of cornerstone. New version doesn’t save any content in the default content. It only save shortcodes with section ID’s whereas older version saved the text as well in the content.

SearchIQ only index the page content and not the shortcodes, so page content is not indexed on michaelgrinder.com for the mentioned pages as it has latest version of Cornerstone.
