Not working on 4.9.8

  • I have installed Advanced Excerpt, activated it and set it up on the settings page to filter all tags except p, br, div, em and strong. The excerpts are unchanged from before. (I am not using custom excerpts.)

    Server: Ubuntu 18.04 running Apache 2.4 and PHP 7.2
    WordPress: 4.9.8 en_GB

    Please help me to resolve this – your plugin would be very useful if it works!

    Hi,

    It’s possible that the issue is with the theme and the way it handles excerpts ( if it’s not the usual WordPress way ). Can you try switching to the default WordPress theme ( TwentySeventeen ) and see if the plugin works fine. If it does then the issue is with the theme.

    Looking at the source code, your theme wraps the excerpt in an HTML span tag, so I’m assuming the theme is stripping all HTML in there because tags like p and div do not go inside of a span.
