• With just this plugin enabled, when I add a new document following these steps:

    1) Title
    2) Upload file with Upload New Version button
    3) Summary
    4) Set state
    5) Click Update

I get: “The backup of this post in your browser is different from the version below.”

and there’s 2 revisions in the Revision Log

    What’s going on?

  • I can make no comment on the backup message, but may be associated with an autosave being taken.

However the “2 revisions in the Revision Log” is an artifact of the system. (See the topic named most-recent-upload-change-is-duplicated.)

Hover over the first field on each line – the time sime the update was made. The first one will be linked to the current document, e.g. site/documents/2018/08/fred.txt, i.e. the permalink to the latest version.

The second line is linked to the latest revision (identified as a revision), so would be site/documents/2018/08/fred-revision-1.txt. Since it’s the latest revision, it will actually be the same as the current one, i.e. the first line.

When further revisions are made, the first two lines will always have the same details – and will be like fred.txt and fred-revision-n.txt where n is the current revision number. They do link to the same file which is held only once. Earlier revisions appear only once in the log.

    HTH,
    Neil
