This has been a problem that has been occurring regularly lately and I’m not sure the issue. I don’t seem to be seeing any pattern that would be causing it. One thing that’s odd is the error seems to be referencing what looks like the username of another account on my hosting provider’s server (represented by YYYY. My account is XXXX.)

Basically sporadically my site will give the typical ‘white screen of death’ wherein I can’t access anything. I’ll disable all plugins by renaming the plugin folder, go back in and reactivate. All plugins reactivate except now The Events Calendar won’t. It gives me the error below. I’ve deleted the plugin and reinstalled it twice now and in both instances it’s remained working for a week or so before failing again. Any ideas?

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Warning: include(/home/YYYY/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/vendor/composer/../lucatume/di52/src/tad/DI52/Container.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/XXXX/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/vendor/composer/ClassLoader.php on line 444

  • Hey there @funkmasterc!

Thanks for reaching out — sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties.

Does this happen if you activate The Events Calendar first? Definitely sounds like a plugin conflict going on here.

Honestly I can’t recall. I think my flow was that after going back in, I selected all plugins and clicked ‘activate’. It would activate all plugins until it got to Events Calendar, then fail and not activate any further plugins. I THINK at that point, I tried disabling all plugins and then activating JUST the Events Calendar and I kept getting the fatal error.

The issue hasn’t occurred again after the 2nd time. Since the 2nd failure, I renewed and updated a few paid plugins so perhaps that was the cause? Specifically Visual Composer and WP User Frontend.

I’m still particularly concerned with the fact that it looked like it was trying to access another person’s hosting account (that is another customer of the hosting provider we use) on the server it was on.

That is strange indeed. Sounds like WP could have maxed out the memory and things went haywire from there.

We definitely don’t try to access other hosting accounts. If you saved the error, I’d reach out to the host. Also keep a malware scanner active ??

    Take care,
    Ed ??
