• Good Evening,

    I’ve read the FAQs stating:

The e-mail could not be sent: This happens when the wp_mail() function call fails. If you’re testing the plugin on a localhost and don’t use a local email server, this error will show.

But I’m running on a live site and cannot get any further than this, I just keep getting “The e-mail could not be sent” if I try to reset a password.

The site is running WP 4.9.8 with the Twenty Twelve theme and this is my first time using this plugin.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Hi mate that’s just one example of a possible reason. It could also be an issue with the email addresses, or PHP mailer configuration on the server.

    Thanks for quick reply ??

The sender email address (on the Settings page) is correct, and so is the address I’m using to test the reset (same result with multiple accounts).

Also, the system is able to email out using a couple other plugins (a simple form and BBPress notifications), so I *thought* the PHP mailer was functioning correctly.

Getting into the specific PHP mailer config is beyond my knowledge base, but I could ask my web host if you could point me in the right direction of something specific to look for? Or are there any known plugin conflicts?

    Cheers!
