• I have just downloaded the newest version, 2.7.1, zipped on my laptop and ftped to my host server, followed all instructions to the tee and it doesn’t want to install.

    When I type:
    https://www.freeyourpotential.com.au/blog/wp-admin/install.php

    I get:
    —————————————————
    Not Found

    The requested URL /blog/wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.2.6 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.6 OpenSSL/0.9.8b mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_perl/2.0.3 Perl/v5.8.8 Server at https://www.freeyourpotential.com.au Port 80
    —————————————————

    The permission of all files is 744, the permission of the blog folder is 755.

    I even added these lines in the wp-config.php file:
    define(‘WP_SITEURL’, ‘https://www.freeyourpotential.com.au/blog’);
    define(‘WP_HOME’, ‘https://www.freeyourpotential.com.au/blog’);

    Nothing goes. I’m completely clueless now.

    The only I can think of is that I had a wordpress.com account on the same URL, and I decided to install it directly on my server. I can’t see how that could affect it though. Just trying to stretch my mind.

    Please help!

    Thanks!

    I just found what the problem was, something in my host server account. The files I was copying to www folder were meant to all be mirrored to public_html folder but somehow the duplication was broken.

    thanks anyway!
