I have multiple images with captions in a column, 4 images per line. When I update any image, the images on the top row “stair step” down with additional spaces above the images. I was able to correct this by adding paragraph tags to each image with caption, but then there are weird empty spaces where images should be. The spaces are different in different browsers (Firefox/Explorer/Chrome vs Safari).

I have also noticed when I save, my paragraph tags are removed, but I must add them back in after additional revisions otherwise the top images “stair step” again. About a month ago I needed to replace the returns between images/captions with break tags instead of paragraph tags and it fixed everything.

Will email test URL for visual.

    Thank you for your time!

    Hey @vismark,

    Thanks for posting!

The tinyMCE editor automatically strips out empty tags and adds those break and paragraph tags on single/double spaces. When using custom HTML, I’d suggest using the HTML module instead. Can you give that a shot and see if it works for you? ??

I just tried the HTML module and the alignment does the same thing. Can I send the URL through a private message for you to take a look at?

    Thank you for your time!

    Fixed via email.

So what is the fix? I have the same problem on my website page. I have thumbnail images on the left with descriptions on the right. Line breaks, enter, etc. all disappear whenever I save whether on coding or visual side. It’s really frustrating and only happening since the WordPress change.

    Hey @prasanna108,

The main issue was caused by a single image which is a pixel short than the rest causing the next element to float directly under it.

Re the code issues, the tinyMCE editor doesn’t accept empty paragraph tags which was the cause.

It looks like your site isn’t using our builder though. If my above answer doesn’t help much, I’d suggest getting in touch with probably your theme’s author. They might be adding some stuff which is causing the issues you’re experiencing. ??
