Images disappered after migrating from http to http
-
My host recently offered free upgrades to SSL and wanting to be up on security, I took the plunge. I read several articles about the process. I used plugins such as “Force HTTPS”, “Really Simple SSL” I have tried using the plugin “Better Search Replace” to change instances of HTTP to HTTPS (both with www and without.)
After all of these things, My site is still missing its banner and images I posted over the years. When I go to a post to add or upload a new image, my gallery appears with all images blanked out and not displaying.
A couple of things: I use the plug in “Photo Gallery” for my images. I have tried disabling the program and get the same results.
Also, I am using Wordfence Security (Free) for my site. I also tried disabling this plugin while I did “Search and Replace” to make sure there weren’t protected files that I wasn’t changing. This failed too.
Finally, I checked my htaccess file and saw that I still have references to the http in there. Specifically a few lines like this:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^https://marwoodwilliams.com$ [NC]
While I have been using WordPress for several years, I don’t want to mess with the htaccess file unless I know what is what.
Does anyone have suggestions? Something I am overlooking I should do? Should I change my htaaccess file references from “http” to https” Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!
