Admittedly I’ve been tinkering with the templates to get top-level links to display all posts in a category so I can create displays that list ‘Our Team’, ‘Our Work’, etc. It’s been working really well – any posts in that category display reverse chronologically and allows easier editing/updating.

Today though everything seems to have lost its category! All posts are ‘uncategorized’ and although the dashboard lists 6 categories, when I click to manage them I can’t see any categories listed at all. Manually re-attaching the categories doesn’t seem to work either.

    Any ideas?

  • Same here.. What is wrong with WP. In dashboard it says I have 8 categories, but I cant see them.

If I add new one, in DASHBOARD I see 9 categories (just that information) but on CATEGORIES page there are no data.

All post are uncategorised and I can not add any categories

Something stupid for sure here, but no solution from my side

I had a similar problem and after investigating it for a while, I found out it was hard disk related.

    see the full solution here

The link seems to be outdated by now… Has anyone got a solution for this?

I uninstalled the Magic Fields plugin and like magic the hidden posts were back and visible
