Installation via Godaddy account

    Hello, I’ve just installed WP manually (wow, that was fun) using Godaddy hosting. I modified the wp-config.php file as per instructions in WP help forum. Now, when I go to the site, I’m lost….

    What to do? Not sure where to login or how this happened.

  • on godaddy the connection isn’t localhost
    go to the DB Manager and check the connection
    it will be similar to
    p50mysql.secureserver.net
    or
    mysql54.secureserver.net

    Samboll, hopefully you are still on line. I sure was hoping you’d respond. Can you standby for just a minute? I’m not sure what is going on. I’ve been at this for four hours. I will try what you said and check back in a min. Thanks much!

    I’m modifying the wp-config file now (again). Just put in the db name, un and pw, and the correct host name. Do I need to change the “unique phrase here” lines – and if so, generate a key? I think I read that somewhere on WP help.

    leave the keys alone until you are installed
    you can generate and add the keys afterward and it’s one less chance of messing up
    :>)
