    Hello,

I’m trying to use Gutenberg on few my sites. Unfortunately, every time, when I try to add paragraph block, I got this error: “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed”.

I tryed to disable all plugins, use default twenty seventeen theme, but every time I got this error.

Please, can you help me understand, what I’m doing wrong?

    Thank you!

  • I am constantly seeing this error too but inconsistently. Plain text works ok, images/gallery sometimes works but often not and video not at all.

I’ve tried switching off plugins but its hard to tell if it has any impact when the error is appearing intermittently. Could it be theme related?

I’m really trying to make a proper go of using this thing but it really is a struggle. There is no way this was ready for general release.

This is a new error. I had no issues (other than philosophical) with previous versions of the Gutenberg plugin, but after updating to the 3.4 version, I constantly see the “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed” message when adding blocks. And all posts created with previous versions of Gutenberg are un-editable due to this error.

When WP5.0 is released, I think I’ll be sticking with the 4.9 branch and disabling the internal WP update mechanism. Gutenberg is looking more and more like something ma.tt wants/needs for wordpress.com to compete with Wix, not something that belongs in the GPL WordPress core…

Here are the JS errors that occur when loading a post for editing with the 3.4 version of Gutenberg:

ReferenceError: tinymce is not defined tinymce-plugin-lists.min.137fa94a.js:1:30
ReferenceError: tinymce is not defined tinymce-plugin-paste.min.f6e82d7a.js:1:143
