Please help i`ve deleted the complete `themes folder `

  • Can anyone please help me ive removed the completethemes folder` in filezilla for my wordpress blog instead of just a theme inside the folder !
    So now i log on to filezilla go to www then to wp-content but now i have no themes folder to drag and drop new themes into how can i put the theme folder back ?? I go to my blog but its now just a blank page , I go to my wordpress dashboard and go to themes but i dont have any themes there at all and i cannot add new ones because i`ve deleted the folder from filezilla !!
    Some one please help me

  • Just download a new copy of wordpress, extract it, and upload the themes folder from there to you site. That will get the folder and two default themes back on your site.

    Hey figaro,
    thank you so much for your help but i`m still alittle lost as i am really very new to computers how do i download a copy of my wordpress because it is the version which i host myself , Can i ask you to give me a little more details please ??

    Just go here:

    Download the zip file to your computer and extract it…on a windows computer, just right click on it and select “extract all”. Then inside the wordpress directory you will see wp-content and in there you will see themes. Just use filezilla to ftp that themes directory to your site.

    You’re welcome…if you think that was easy, wait until wp2.8 is released…it’s going to eliminate a lot posts here where people are having problems installing themes…take a peek here…

    Hey Figaro,
    Yes that looks great !! Figaro the reason i had to post on this forum in the first place was because id downloaded a theme into my wordpress and by mistake messed about with the widgets which in turn messed the whole outlay of my blog , i couldnt belive it i only did a couple of clicks and it turned my whole blog upside down. So i went ahead and deleted the themes folder and you know the rest !!
    But i did as you said yesterday and got it all back BUT the outlay is still the same all upside down because of the 2 widgets and i just cannot get it back to the original setting , today i thought about completely downloading wordpress but i`m not sure where to put it in my filezilla ?? Is this the right thing to do or is there a simple way of getting everything back to the original settings ??
