rel=”canonical” is getting removed after YOAST install

Could you please send us a sample URL of where this issue is occurring? When the Yoast SEO plugin is enabled, it is expected to show the rel=”canonical” accordingly.

Yes, this is what i was expecting either.

It’s a strange thing that it gets disabled after Yoast is enabled.
Also manually entering a canoncial URL is not bringing the tag back into the source. But plugin seems to work as seen in HTML source.

Follow-up:

When “searech engine indexing” globally is disabled (Settings), then canonical link tag disappears when YOAST SEO is active.

When i activate indexing and allow robots, YOAST SEO is showing canonical link.

The issue has been resolved for me.
But plugin behaviour is still confusing for development sites.
