• Earlier today I moved my WP installation from its own directory to root directory (described here)

It all worked well – only now, I have no GUI for the WP admin controlpanel anymore! All I see is this – a text-only interface.

What happened, and how do I get the GUI back?

  • Try flushing your browser and server caches. It looks like you’re missing a style.css file or two.

If that doesn’t fix the issue, press F12 to bring up the inspect and then click on the Console tab to see what errors are shown.

Thanks for the input, kjodle. However, flushing didn’t change anything. The Inspector does say that “CSS Grid is not in use on this page, though.
How can I re-apply any missing style.css files?

Could I simply backup my content, re-install WP and restore content?

If you click on the “Console” tab, it will tell you if any files are missing. You could simply restore those files only if that’s the case.
