    Hi,

Is it possible to hide or customize the site id in the source code of the website? It’s kind of a footprint.

    Thanks

    Hi @nicoter,
I can’t figure out how the site id is a footprint but I’ll look for way to hide it …
Please note the php tracking doesn’t leave any footprint as it is totally invisible.
Have a nice day and thank you for the comment

    Hi @nir0ma,

Regarding footprint, it’s easy to find all websites using the plugin using a source code search engine such as Nerdydata or Publicwww.

And since there’s only like 100+ installs there’s probably only very few users using it for 30+ websites tied to the same Matomo server. If only 2 or 3 have site id’s of 20, 21, 23 and so on it’s easy to spot which belong to the same owner (maybe same language, same niche, same type of website, etc).

If you could find a way to hide it, that would be awesome!

    Thanks

    Hi @nicoter,

V1.2.0 is coming and might fix your issue.

As it wasn’t possible to hide or customize the site id, JS tracking mode will no more inline javascript but will call a js file.

The JS Tracking file loading mode will be customizable (defer, async or nothing) and it will be possible to set it to disallow in robots.txt to prevent indexing.

Hope this might solve you issue

    Have a nice day !

    Hi @nir0ma,

This is perfect and solves my issue. Thank you, it’s very much appreciated!
I’m marking this thread as resolved.

I created a new thread regarding two slow page loading issues. Not sure if there’s a solution, but would be great if you can have a look.

    Have a nice weekend ??
