  • Sorry, but your website has NO CONTENT, just images. IN the world of the web, websites are ranked based on their content. Images are considered decoration on a page. You will need to add actual content to your website so Google has something to say about it. You also have no good page titles or page descriptions so again, there is no content for Google to list for you. You can start with an SEO plugin and add some description text to the pages and descriptive page titles.

Google does not make up the text for you, you have to have it on your pages.

so you can’t have a minimal website? I have named and alt tagged all my images with relevant information. I have yoast installed is that what I should use for SEO?

If you have yoast installed, do you have page titles and descriptions for every page?

You can have a minimal website but without any words on it how can google rank it. The bots do not look a the images and rank you based on image names. They need words to read to see what the site is about and what to say on the search results.

I mean honestly the only words on your entire web site are Home, Commercial, personal, families & contact.

Are you a photographer? Are you selling images or are those samples of your work?
If I were the google ranking person I would have no idea what the purpose of your website was and would not rank it at all.

I suggest an about page or a paragraph on the home page that states who you are and what your website is for?

I am not at all trying to be mean, so please do not be offended by my comments.

haha no it’s ok i’m not a website designer I have literally started at the bottom to get this far so i will take any help i can get.
I just want the website to be a portfolio, I realise it wont be ranked no1 when you google ‘photographer dublin’, but I thought that at least my homepage would appear when you google my name! will work more on the SEO

If you add content to all of the page title and description fields Google will then have content to display when you google your name.
    Good luck!
