Hi Franky! This time I read through the FAQ first on your site but did not find an answer. I (as many others) use Yoast SEO and utilize the xml sitemap feature of Yoast. I’m wondering why my events are not being submitted to the sitemap in Yoast? I get a post_tag sitemap and a page sitemap (I’m not using posts so there are 0 posts in the DB), but the events are not showing up in the pages sitemap. Being that the events do not use “single.php” rather “page.php” I’m wondering why this is?

    Any help is appreciated.

NOTE: Google is indexing the events, but I would like them included in the sitemap for consistency.

Events are not posts (nor pages), so they are not indexed by yoast.

Interesting. Wondering what they could be if not a post or a page? Either way, since the events are outside that realm, that does answer my question but raises another… why? I mean, not trying to have you expose any secrets but just wondering the logic behind that decision.

Also is there a way to possibly set up a secondary sitemap just for events, without Yoast?

I have put the RSS links on my event pages, just wondering if there is a way to submit the events to Google via sitemap even without Yoast.

    Thanks Franky!

Actually Franky, I just decided to try something out. I went to an online XML sitemap generator, entered https://mydomain.com/events and it’s generating a sitemap for me as we speak. Even though this is a manual action, it works… and can possibly be automated through my theme.

Not sure why I didn’t think of this in the first place.

To do this, I had to set the “show number of events” to 0, then on the pages where I’m applying the [eme_events] shortcode, I just add my limit there [eme_events scope=future limit=10]
