    Hi,

I recently installed the slider and I really like it, however it is completely invisible on my mobile browser (Chrome on Andriod 7.0). I have included a link to the website, hopefully you can help. There is caching and asyncing etc in place on the site, however none of it has been updated since I put the slider on. I am waiting until the site is complete before I enable it all properly again. There is a small possibility that something that was already minified before I installed it could be causing the problem if it is a dependency for the plugin.

    Thank you

    Hi @chrisharkness

I can’t see the slider on mobile either, because the images doesn’t seem to exist. E.g. one of the slides has this image: https://hdiltd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/09.jpg
that simply gives a 404 error after loading for a while.

Have you recently migrated the site? Please try clearing the slider’s cache: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/215-cache
because the problem can be that the images are trying to be loaded from the old site.

Thanks for the reply, the site is only at https://www.hdiltd.com for me on my PC. I have changed my hosts file to redirect to the domain for testing purposes. For everyone else the site is at https://213.107.185.85/plesk-site-preview/hdiltd.com/213.107.185.85/.

I have just looked at the site now on a remote desktop and it is invisible on that too so it has to be the fact that the URL contains the domain name and not just the folder. All the links I have created myself all begin at the /, I presume the ones in the slider plugin all begin with https://www.hdiltd.com/.

Problem solved hopefully, and pretty quickly and easily. I assume once I point the DNS for the domain to the new site everything will just work perfectly.

    Cheers!

    Hi @chrisharkness!

If it still wouldn’t work out, this documentation could help too:
    https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1534-what-to-do-with-smart-slider-3-when-you-are-moving-a-website#domain
so if you specify the WP_CONTENT_URL and clear our cache, all our links will use that domain!

Thanks for the reply. Once I change the DNS to point to the website it should work. I am pretty sure seeing as the issue looks the same on both a remote desktop and a mobile, that it is the same problem and it will just rectify itself then.

I have two other quick questions though. Unfortunately you won’t be able to see to test due to the reasons outlined above, however if I change the height and click save it makes no difference to the height of the slider. I have refreshed the plugin’s cache and it has made no difference. Secondly, the previews which appear above the dots at the bottom of the slider are for the template before I edited it. Every single image is of the template I used and not the content I inputted myself. How do I change that?

    Thank you

At your Fullwidth responsive mode’s settings:
    https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/399-responsive-mode-fullwidth
there is a 700px maximum height specified and this won’t let your slider grow bigger. You should increase this value too!

If at your bullets the thumbnail showing is turned on too, at the slides we have a “Thumbnail” field:
    https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1297-slide-settings-settings
and that is the image we are displaying with them. If your problem would be something different, please send me a screenshot about this to [email protected]

Thank you. I’m trying to make it smaller, it is set to 700 and I have changed it down to 500 but it doesn’t change in size. I shall look at the thumbnail thing and let you know

We have two editing modes, the canvas:

    and the content mode:

In the canvas mode you have the freedom of putting your layers anywhere, while in the content mode your slide’s size is based on your layers, so on smaller screens you can have more and bigger layers. By default content mode is used and if you have big or many layers, those can make your slider stay big, even if you change the height values to smaller. So the layer height has the biggest priority in the order of what height your slider gets.

If it still wouldn’t work out, please send me an export of your slider:
    https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/370-import-slider#export
    to [email protected]

All sorted. Thank you. I shall be switching the DNS to point to the new site in the coming days and then I’ll know about the mobile thing for certain. Have a great weekend
