Hi, I’ve just noticed that email notifications (for Wordfence) from my dev WordPress install are being blocked.
They show an odd “from” address, essentially like [email protected] (not the real hostname), instead of using the email configured in the WordPress general settings.
Where does that come from, and how can I fix it?

    Hello @nosilver4u,

Emails that come from Wordfence in regards to alerts and summaries will not come from the address provided in the WordPress > General > Email Address field.

Instead, the alerts and emails come from an address that will look like [email protected], such as what you’ve described.

This is documented in the WordPress wp_mail() function documentation.

It would appear everything is ok as far as where things are being sent from in your case, it sounds as if you may just need to set up a rule for your email service to accept emails from the address which they are sending from.

Okay, that makes sense, and points me to the problem. I use Postmark for sending my emails, but I don’t have the Postmark plugin configured on this particular site. Thought I did, but just realized it’s going through Postmark via the system (Exim) integration.

    Thanks!
