WP Roles Outside of LDAP

Does this plugin allow users to maintain WP specific custom roles that have not been defined as part of the LDAP profile. So lets say they are WP “Contributors” based on my LDAP definition, but I have a some custom functinality that has defined an additional role like “Document User” that I assign the user directly in WP. Will the plugin honor that additional role, or will it wipe it out when the user logs in?

I know your OKTA plugin has a setting that allows you to “turn off” the role updates upon login after a user’s initial creation in WP.
