Simple Facebook Connect is no longer supported by the developer. My issue is when I try to disable the plugin, my posts disappear on all my blog posts and pages. All I get is the title of the page or post. When I enable the plugin, the posts reappear. I am at a loss as to how to remove the plugin.

Thanks in advance for your help – Sam

This doesn’t make any sense. Disabling SFC won’t make your post content go away.

SFC never had anything to do with displaying your post content, so, it can’t actually do that. Although, if you were using it for showing something like the Facebook Comments and such, then those will certainly go away.

Also, SFC hasn’t actually *worked* since I stopped supporting it several years ago. So, why would you still have it active at all? It stopped working completely. All it can do is throw errors. Just remove it.

I know it doesn’t make sense, but my posts do disappear when I disable it. Saying it shouldn’t happen does not really answer the issue.

    Thanks – Sam

Yeah, but there is no answer for your issue, because what you are saying isn’t possible.

SFC doesn’t have anything to do with displaying your post content. Like, at all. So, it can’t hide it when removed, because it was not displaying it in the first place.

Basically, there is no solution to your problem, because what you are describing doesn’t actually make any sense. The only way to fix the issue is for you to do the standard debugging steps. Disable all plugins and use a default theme. Figure out what the actual problem is. Because I guarantee you that running SFC is a waste of your time, and disabling it is not the root cause of whatever the actual problem is.

I wrote the plugin. I know what it does and does not do. It does not do this.

I found the issue. Simple Facebook Connect left the following code in the content.php file: <div class=”likebutton”><?php sfc_share_button(‘button_count’);?></div>. Once I removed it, posts reappeared.
This was left in the file even though I had deleted Simple Facebook Connect.

Glad that you found the issue, however, that code was added manually to your files. SFC never had any code to add things to files.
