Wp-config not updated after install

    I have been using duplicator for years now, very happy with it. But now i have run into an issue. I create a package, install everything, everything is fine but then when i look at the staging.domain.com site it redirects to domain.com.

    Now apparently everything is installed okay except for the wp-config file.. it still has the old database entries. The data in the new database is updated/installed correctly but only the wp-config file doesn’t get updated and links to the database of domain.com…

    Any ideas? ??

  • Hey @jochenc,

    It most likely seems like a permissions issue where the PHP process isn’t allowed to update the file. Some hosts will harden the config file with a stricter set of perms. To know for sure you might contact your host.

    Hmm strange, because i have used it before on cloudways and didn’t have any issues before. But at least now i know what direction to look at.

    In 99% of most issues where the wp-config.php that is the issue, hope you’re able to get it going.
