Not closing active MYSQL connections
-
My host provider told me that my database (show process list) was reporting active mysql connections that were not closing and causing high CPU loads. When the maximum number of connections was reached my site would stop and they would have to reset these connections (kill them i believe is the terminology used).
They told me to contact my web developer and get them to make changes to scripts to ensure MYSQL connections are closed properly.
I’m pretty confident this is not a WordPress 2.7.1 problem otherwise I’m sure many thousands of sites would have had the same problem by now. I therefore think it is related to a plugin.
This problem started four days ago and in that time I have only updated the Simple Tags plugin and Google Analyticator plugin. I suspect the problem lies with Simple Tags as this one does make calls on the database.
Has anyone else come across this problem also and how can Simple Tags be checked to see if there is a a missing MYSQL connection close statement.
If it is not that, then I have no idea where else to turn.
Out of my depth here and any help gratefully received.
Mike
