• Hi there, we get a fatal error (see below) when activating BackWPup and Amazon Polly plugins at the same time

See the error below, any hints? (we can also provide credentials to our test website, if this can help you solve the problem)

    Error:

Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to Aws\Common\Client\AbstractClient::__construct() must be an instance of Aws\Common\Credentials\CredentialsInterface, array given, called in /home/websitename/public_html/wp-content/plugins/amazon-polly/vendor/aws/Aws/Sdk.php on line 334 and defined in /home/websitename/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/vendor/aws/aws-sdk-php/src/Aws/Common/Client/AbstractClient.php on line 73

Hi there, when do you think you can solve this issue?

Note that I discussed with Amazon Polly developers, and this is what they claim:

This one is a bit tricky, the simple reason for this problem is that Polly plugin uses latest version of the AWS SDK, meanwhile the other plugin which you mentioned uses much older SDK

Do you plan to update the SDK for BackWPup any soon?

    Cheers

I have forwarded this problem to our devs and will back to you when I have something new.
So for now, please be patient!
    Thanks!

Any word on this, I have started receiving the same error. My difference is I am only using BackWPup Version 3.6.0, with a plugin I am developing.

Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to Aws\Common\Client\AbstractClient::__construct() must be an instance of Aws\Common\Credentials\CredentialsInterface, array given, called in /path/to/my/plugin/myfile.php on line 32 and defined in /fullpath/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/vendor/aws/aws-sdk-php/src/Aws/Common/Client/AbstractClient.php on line 73

It seems there is no much interested on solving this, as 3 months have passed.

At the moment I keep BackWPup non active and I only active it for 5 minutes per week to make a backup but it’s not longterm sustainable as I deal with many websites and it’s too much work.

So, unless this get solved, I’ll be forced to switch backup plugin. It’s a shame because BackWPup is a great backup plugin, if it was not for AWS bug
