• I’ve got the “Google XML Sitemaps” plugin installed on my WordPress site. Every time I click on the “XML-Sitemap” settings link, I always get a “Error 500 – Internal server error, please try again later”. So what on earth is going on with that and how do I get “XML-Sitemap” to work?

    WordPress: 2.7.1
    Google XML Sitemaps: 3.1.2

  • Same here. I am using wordpress 2.8. Here is what I get:

Error 500 – Internal server error

An internal server error has occured!
    Please try again later.

I am using wordpress 2.8 and I have come across a lot of errors. Right now …

    1) When I click on the “XML Sitemap” link, I get a 500 Internal Server Error.

    FIX:
My “All in One SEO Pack” plug-in was causing this error, so I deactivated it. For now, I am deactivating it and reactivating it. A pain in the ass, but for now it will do.

    2) When I click on the “rebuild the sitemap” link, I get a 500 Internal Server Error.

    FIX:
What I did is unchecked the “Write a gzipped file (your filename + .gz)” checkbox and saved the settings.

Then, clicking on the “rebuild the sitemap” worked.

Good luck. I hope to find a real fix on the internet.
