Counts For Facebook No Longer Showing.

Thank you for your question. What do you have selected – to show counts of the page where the Facebook page appears, or counts for your page on Facebook?

I have it set up to display the counts on a widget that is displayed on my website’s sidebar. It’s configured to retrieve the number of likes on my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/solareximaging/).

Just for added information, I have been using this plugin for several years already, and I’ve had no major issue with the Facebook counter. The only minor “problem” that I’ve experienced was that the count display goes blank for a while, but it generally comes back after a couple of hours. I’m guessing it must have been some “problems” with Facebook, and not the plugin. This time around, it didn’t come back at all.

Ok, so the story is the following: in order to get the counts, a “Facebook app” is needed. Facebook has recently made some changes where the app needs to be re-submitted and approved. We now sent this request for the app we are using in our plugin.

Regarding the counts temporarily disappearing already before: All users of the free plugins share the same Facebook app. Every app has limits, so if there have been too many calls already then it returns 0. In this plugin https://www.ultimatelysocial.com/usm-premium/ we made it possible so that you can enter your own Facebook app details (it’s not too complicated to set it up on Facebook) so that you have your own app, and can use it without sharing the limits with anybody else.
