    Hello, Siteimprove flags markers without an alt attribute as an accessibility concern. Users should be able to set the alt text, or at the least have the alt text default to alt=”” and have the markers treated as a decorative image.

    Thank you for getting in touch with us.

    We’re using Google Maps API to generate markers on the map. Unfortunately Google Maps API doesn’t provide alt attribute by default. We’ll try to add some attributes so it would be easier to add alt attribute to markers with some JavaScript. I’ll keep you informed when it will be ready.
